This study investigated the reading readiness of kindergarten pupils at Cabitaugan Integrated School in Barangay Cawag, Subic, Zambales, Philippines. Using a standardized assessment tool, the research aimed to determine the significant relationship between kindergarten pupils’ reading skills and a quasi-experimental quantitative research design, which specifically utilized the pre-test and post-test method. The findings suggest that the reading intervention program has contributed to improvements in various literacy domains. The results were used as the basis for developing a structured reading program tailored to the specific literacy needs of kindergarten pupils, contributing to the improvement of early childhood education in the Philippines.
